The collection, housed in the ground-floor rooms of the Castello Inferiore, includes chess sets, clocks, graphic works, and other curiosities, for a total of approximately 3,300 items.
The works on display, dating from the 18th to the 20th century, come from all over the world and are arranged in rooms organized by geographical areas. Among the artists featured are renowned names such as Enrico Baj, Marcel Duchamp, Francesco Garbelli, Giò Pomodoro, Marcello Morandini, Andreas Paul Weber, and many others.
The exhibition goes beyond the objects themselves, also telling the story of chess, major chess events, the lives of Champions, and numerous curiosities related to this ancient and universal game.
