The exhibits on display at the Museum
A journey to tell the story of the game of chess: its history, the lives of champions, artworks created by renowned artists, and a thousand other curiosities dedicated to the game beloved around the world.
The collection, housed in the ground-floor rooms of the Lower Castle, includes over 100 chessboards, chess sets, clocks, graphic works, and other curiosities, totaling approximately 3,300 pieces.
The exhibited works, dating from the 18th to the 20th century, come from countries around the world and are divided into rooms organized by geographic regions.
Among the featured artists are renowned names such as Enrico Baj, Marcel Duchamp, Francesco Garbelli, Giò Pomodoro, Marcello Morandini, Andreas Paul Weber and many others.
