Ugo Dossi
Munich, Germany 1943
Born in Germany, he currently works between Munich and Milan. He began his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and continued at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. In Milan, he experimented with theatrical painting and exhibited in galleries dedicated to Surrealism. He traveled throughout Europe, drawing inspiration from other movements such as Fluxus (a constantly evolving hybrid art), neo-surrealist Object Art, and Nouveau Réalisme. His art expresses the creativity of the unconscious, a paranormal and sensual universe, through automatic drawings, video, and projections. His installations pay close attention to the relationship between art and science, the subconscious, art, and chess. His works have been exhibited at the Venice and Paris Biennales, in Buenos Aires, and in major international museums.
