Toni Moretto
Monticello Conte Otto, Italy 1929 – Venice, Italy 2011
20th-century ceramist from Vicenza. His ceramic figures depict contemporaries in everyday poses, with elaborate details that are often humorous, sometimes caricatured, and occasionally characterized by a comical touch. In 1958, he founded Lo Scricciolo, an Italian ceramic studio in Milan, together with two other sculptors, Giovanni Duso and Adriano Colombo. His art is also known in the United States, Japan, and Australia. Each piece is unique, different, and produced and painted by hand.
