Keith Allen Haring
Pennsylvania, USA 1958 – New York, USA
American artist and activist, known for his direct and colorful figurative language, with simple lines, stylized figures, and vibrant colors. Active in New York during the 1980s, he created murals, posters, sculptures, and public artworks addressing social issues such as AIDS, discrimination, and social justice, with a style that is immediately recognizable and symbolic.
Among his most notable works are public murals, bronze and wooden sculptures, prints, and figurative compositions on walls, fabrics, and multiple supports, in which the dynamism of the line and universal symbolism define his contribution to contemporary art.
