Charles Hollis Jones

American artist and furniture designer, known for his innovative use of Lucite and acrylic in furniture, lamps, and art objects. Founder of CHJ Designs in Los Angeles, he created over 1,000 projects characterized by modern lines, transparency, and vibrant colors. His works include Lucite chess sets, such as the Cubist-style Rainbow Lucite Chess Set, celebrated for their elegance and craftsmanship, as well as furniture and lamps displayed in prominent museums and collections. In the 1970s, he created the award-winning Edison Lamp in steel and Lucite, which reveals the inner workings of Edison’s technology.
